Please carefully read all of the following information to prepare for your competition on October 12, 2019.

The vocal divisions for the Festival will be held Saturday, October 12 at the Thornton Arts and Culture Center located at 9209 Dorothy Blvd. in Thornton. We will start with Intermediate at 11:00 am. Students may enter the building at 10:30 am. Below you will find your division’s start time and competition number. Students will be introduced by their competition number.

The competition is a public performance and professional attire is required. We suggest girls wear skirts below the kneecap. Boys should wear button down shirts and a tie. Carefully review the criteria at youngartistsalliance.com. The Festival is an audience-based competition. Parents, family and friends are invited to attend at no cost.

Check-In

Please arrive 15-20 minutes before your division’s start time. As you arrive, check-in with the volunteer located outside the competition room. Bring to the competition original music with measures numbered for your performances. Turn in the above material to the check-in volunteer. Two warm-up rooms are located down stairs.  Warm up in performance order unless your teacher chooses to warm you up in groups.  No stage rehearsals are available.

TACC has a low stage.  We suggest girls wear skirts at least to the knee.  This is a professional event and concert attire is appropriate. Girls might want to wear flats during the warm up process.  The stairs are very steep.   As much as possible, please be in the performance room at the beginning of your division.  Students enter the stage by an announced performance number.  Do not say your name, high school or give any other information.  Audience members will have a program that contains your bio and performance information.

Awards        

Award winners will be posted on the web site at least by midnight Monday, October 14.  Some students will be asked to perform for the spring final concert in April.  Award winners will receive scholarships by mail.  Funds are to be used to advance your study of the arts.  Any senior that has participated in the festival for three years can also apply for the senior scholarship in the spring.  Please refer to the web site.

Final Concert

Please reserve Saturday, April 18, 2020 for the Final Concert and Award Ceremony. The judges will select top award-winners from all disciplines to perform at 6:30 pm at Skyview Academy Auditorium located at 8990 York St. in Thornton. (just north of 88th Ave.)

All award-winners and their friends and families are invited to attend this performance. Tickets are not sold for this event. However, donations are appreciated. Checks should be made out to TASHCO. Donations can also be made via credit card at the event.
